Jay is our youngest Nutz. Also my son, He has had an interest in cars since he was able to walk. He started out with a battery powered Jeep when he was 2, to a 5 hp go cart by 5.
His Grandfather Clarence had a nice collection of original cars. He gave Jay the 1928 Model A truck when he was around 10 years old.
We worked on it some over the years and even had it running as a stock truck. But the mile high stance and little Ford 4 would never do.
Jay saved up his money when he was 14 and bought a bare Brookville frame. He started removing all the old paint. My uncle Jerry helped us straighten out the bed, doors and fenders.
Jay sold all the origanal running gear and went straight to Brookeville roadster for front and rear suspension, with the help of grandpa & grandma (Gary & Jan). Kenny suppiled an 8 inch Ford rear end. We Built the frame in the summer of 07.
We bought a rebuilt 350 and turbo 350 from another friend and Painted it "Green". We put the motor mounts and the trans mount in. Then we installed them.
By the time we got this far winter was setting in, so the truck went on hold. We helped Kenny and Steve finish Steve's 48 truck. Kenny finished up some other jobs. After Steves truck was done Kenny offered to help us finish Jay's truck. So he came over and picked it up and took it his shop.
First thing to do was make a steel roof for the cab.
The top looks great!!!!!
Steve gave Jay a nice set of vavle covers and air cleaner. We bought a new Walker radiator and electric fan.
Kenny did all the wiring and made the dash using the small origanal dash. Jay bought the TALL shifter.
Jays grandama Jan bought him the oak wood at a local lumber yard and finished it for him. Grandpa Gary added the grooves for the bed strips to sit in.
Kenny and Steve put a lot of hours into helping us get this truck running. below are more build pictures
Once we got the truck running, it was only fair to let Kenny do the first Burnout.
Jays first drive.
We took the truck back to our house and build a new seat and the interior. Custom interior by baker’z stitchin’
